A graduate of what is now Alberta University of the Arts, Paul Rasporich established a commercial design business with his wife before turning to painting portraits in the 1990s. After qualifying as a teacher, he broadened his creative skills and taught art for the Foothills School Division and the Calgary Arts Academy. Since his teaching experiences with Stoney Nakoda young people, Rasporich has developed his interest in First Nations cultures, and life in the Canadian West. In addition to his art and portraits in corporate collections, Rasporich also designed CD covers for the late Ian Tyson.
