Born in Kern County, California Ernie Morris was a 5th generation Californian, and a true cowboy. He was the great-grandson of a Pony Express rider and stage driver. Besides his sought after paintings, Ernie authored and illustrated five popular books about vaquero horsemanship and livestock handling. He illustrated several other books and publications, and has been published in numerous newspaper and magazine articles regarding horse training methods, rawhide braiding and western art.
